Working with Suppliers
Engage with your suppliers
It is such a competitive market place today, whatever your industry. Every business needs to have a story to tell that sets them apart from their competitors. Something that any buyer can align themselves with and that will make them want to buy from you. This can be any one thing or it and can be many things. An example follows on one of the pillars Dinner Ladies chose to underpin their growing business and how it continues to work for them.
As a busy and successful catering business Dinner Ladies stand by their belief that quality will win time after time. That is why they use only the finest ingredients in their dishes and champion small local suppliers that have an empathy with their own aspirations and ethos.
These suppliers range from butchery to wine suppliers and share a passion for quality.
One of those suppliers is Ren’s Kitchen, a small London based spice company that specialises in offering an array of fantastic spices to chefs and households across London.
Both Dinner Ladies and the owner Ren work hard to make their relationship productive and fruitful. Customers love to hear the story of the origins of Ren’s Kitchen and the many uses her spices offer and the history behind them.
To enable the team to understand how her spices work into the Dinner Ladies story, Ren will take time out to perform spice master classes. The team are involved in an interactive session where they learn not only about what is within the dishes offered to customers, but also how to use these magical ingredients for themselves.
This engagement spreads the word of small fantastic suppliers and enables them to grow whilst enjoying a network of similar minded professionals.
